My 6 year old has been on a Clonidine (Catapres) transdermal patch for the past 3 months. The patch seems to itch really bad and causes his skin to breakdown. Has anyone else experienced this with transdermal patches? Any solutions? The patch seems to help the tics some I can say they are better than the were.

" We tried the patch and had the same problems. It helped too so we went to the pill at night to help with sleep and tics and Metadate (Ritlan type med) in the morning to help with the ADHD and ODD. This has worked great for him in school. The only problem is when the Metadate wears off in the afternoon. We must come stright home to do homework or he is too wound up to do it. Logan is 5 and in Kindergarten so I dont know how old your child is but I hope this helps. "
