I'm not sure if grinding my teeth is the reason for my neck and back pain. Has anyone had any similar problems? I'm going next week to have x-rays done on my lower back. I went to a dentist about a year or so ago who have me a mouth guard to use at night, but it didn't work because I was constantly slobbering. I'm afraid I'm wearing my teeth down.

" Yes it does cause the neck and back pain if you have developed TMJ. My daughter has a lot of neck pain. You might want to consider getting a night gaurd from your dentist. Or if you can't afford that you can buy some at the drugstore. They do not fit as well but they can get the job done. Good luck with finding out what works for you. "

" Check out www.nti-tss.com - it tells all about the NTI device for night time teeth grinding. I got mine a month ago and from the first night I wore it my headaches stopped. I had daily migraines so bad I could barely function. Not anymore. And the NTI is so tiny that it fits on your top 2 front teeth so it doesn't interfere with sleep. Good luck! "

" Teeth grinding does cause neck pain which can lead to upper back pain or discomfort.
The reasons are due to the pressure you are putting on your teeth eminates to your TMJ, through the jaw, down the back of your neck into your upper shoulders and back.

I suffer from it, due to having NO TMJ-which helps cushion your jaws. I have what is called a Glass Jaw. "
