My Doctor had me try Tramadol 50mg to be taken on bad days and it really helped deaden the noise. It may cause dizziness or drowsiness. It works for me.

Hoz,
Do you have any hearing loss - is the hearing loss in the high frequency range? What type of tinnitus do you have? The high pitched "eeeee" sound?

Mandie
I do have some hearing loss in the high frequency range in both ears ears but worse on my left side, I have hearing aids but I don't like wearing them because I hear more then I want, I get by fine without them, I use the tramadol on bad days when the high pitch hissing is real bad. I need my mp3 player at night with rain and cricket white noise so I can get some sleep, it's bad but I'm getting by. Good luck.
