A letter to read from Stephen M. Nagler, MD entitled: “Letter to a Tinnitus Sufferer”. He explains to a fellow Tinnitus Sufferer (you), how it almost ruined his life and suggests how to forever “turn bad ear days into not-so-bad ear days." I thought the author not only gave a great suggestion but also gave us hope that there are better days ahead.

This is just a comment I think the book Tinnitus: A Self-Management Guide for the Ringing in Your Ears, will be worth a try. I will see if I can get it now.

Mich, If you get the book, please critique it for us. I've been wondering about this well publicized book. Hope you find it to be an important reference.

I got this book last year from Amazon in the USA and they shipped it to me. It was a used copy but in perfect condition. Cost was about $37.00 in total which to the UK was great.
It's recommended that you do the exercises in the book on a regular basis. It tells you everything in the book and the main objective (I think) was for you to challenge your thoughts etc. It's a bit CBT. I did enjoy reading it and found it of value but I must admit I was a bit lazy when it came to the exercises. If you can get this book for a reasonable amount of money I'd say go for it but I don't think I would have paid £75.00 which is what the UK Amazon was asking for. Good luck. Mandy

My ears are ringing....no, not from tinnitus (because my name was mentioned).
I paid fairly big $ for that book and frankly was a little disappointed. To be fair, you will get out of it only what you put in. So part of the blame probably lies with myself.

Thanks, Seattleite. And everyone in the US--don't forget to join the ATA and support its Walk for a Cure, May 16. You can be a virtual participant too. Here's the link:
https://walk.ata.org/ Re Tinnitus: A Self-Management Guide for the Ringing in Your Ears--it is an excellent book. The $50 price is the ATA members discount. I think somewhere in the ATA archives there's a study of the book showing its effectiveness in helping you cope with t. You do have to put the work into it, though, but it's worthwhile.
