Hello everyone. I have been running a website on tinnitus treatment results for about one-half year now. In order to increase use of the site, I have changed the format to a forum/board. The main focus of the site is tinnitus treatment results. So it is similar to this forum, but more focused on treatment results. Please visit when you get a chance. Your visit, and especially your posting, would be greatly appreciated. The site is:

Thank you Mon4tags. As you said, we need as much help as possible. I believe that reaching out to as many people having tinnitus as possible is very important. And, my forum focuses more specifically on treatment results. Thanks again for visiting.

Thanks for providing a website. Will you be monitoring and maintaining the integrity and honesty of the information being put forth by your forum?
Please establish User Names on your forum as soon as possible. Allowing anonymous posting (posting without a username) is open invite for spamming as you know. Usernames help weed out predators. I understand it's just how the software works, but you can require names be used very easily with a change to preferences. If you can't figure it out, PM, and I'll help you. People abuse public boards constantly posing as sufferers to recommend a product. 10 in 10 times they are anonymous posters with no history of participation. Some people will always take advantage of their fellow man, even those suffering most, if it means some extra cash in their wallet. Pleas be part of the help and not the problem, Alan. Thank you for the invite!

Thank you all for your posts. To Snowrider, yes I do carefully monitor the site. I understand your concern about spammers and companies posting fake information. It is a difficult decision about anonymous posters. This will have to be monitored over time. My philosophy is that allowing anonymous posting opens up the discussion to more people. However, I do see the benefit to requiring the need for registering an account. I will try the latter (requiring an account) for now, and then see what happens to the level of posting. By the way, requiring an account doesn't eliminate spammers - I am continuously fighting spammers from drug ordering companies. Alan.

I agree entirely. Requiring user names won't stop the spammers; I'm not sure God himself could. I just meant to say it's once small thing you can do discourage spamming. The way we know spammers here is the very fact we don't recognize them. You can't know whos regular and whos just stopping in to plug a product without user names.
The internet has become the ultimate playground for misdirection and conniving all with the same end goal: your credit card. Very few companies is above it, unfortunately. We've had multiple fake members join in disguise as suffferes to recommend Nueromonics, Arches, Laser Treatment as well as books. Nueromonics: the treatment that audiologists keep recommending and patients keep asking for their money back on. It's truly out of control but people keep forking over $5000 because it seems to be the most "legitimate" with white lab coats and a nice website. How can it be a hoax if it's 5 grand? RIght? So they think until they discover the truth too late. There's a lot of money in medicine and people want it whether they have to stretch the truth or plainly lie to get it. Nueromincs is, ironically, leading the way.

That should have read "very few companies -are- above it".
OK, end Nueromonics rant. Thanks folks. And thank, Alan, I'm just praying you don't have some kind of "chrio" angle or other less apparent advert underlying the forum. I know it's tiring to hear skepticism but dishonesty is around every corner onine. So I'm sure you understand. Thanks for your patience and take care.

Yeah, my audiologist who will help me with TRT - she loves Neuromonics - I think about that all the time and worry about it -I am going to have to be very careful.
The only upside from this is she flat out told me people with moderate high frequency hearing loss generally FAIL Neuromonics and to save my money and time. I am hoping that is a good sign. People, if you have a significant high frequency hearing loss - Neuromonics will be probably not work. Apparently the embedded signals will not reach your inner brain and then it will not reach your brain - so you will hear some nice music - or boring music - but the very heart of the therapy - embedded signals will go unheard by you. This might explain some why some people feel it gives relief and some people walk around frustrated that they receive nothing from it. I don't know if this is the clue - but it might be.

I meant to say "inner ear" not "inner brain" - gosh it's too early in the morning - going for coffee
Which by the way is a tinnitus no-no - but can't help it.
