Time change and sleep or lack of

I was just wondering if the time change is effecting anyone elses sleep besides mine. I've had insomnia anyway for a long time but my T does make things worse. If I'm lucky enough to be sleeping in the first place it's like I have what seems like an internal alarm clock that's set to go off at the same times every night and I have a very hard time going back to sleep. This week I guess because of the time change I have a new internal alarm added to the list that is going off at 5:00 AM and I haven't been able to go back to sleep after that which ticks me off because I don't have to get up until 6:45. Today I decided to get up after a short time trying to go back to sleep. I'll see if that helps me stay asleep longer tonight.

Does anyone else have internal alarms that wake them up at the same times every night? It seems pretty weird to me...and exhausting.

Thanks.

Deb

" Deb,
I am a morning person so I am generally up by 5 or so. Lately I have been looking at the clock several times during the night before I get up.
Since the time change it has been horrendous. This week I have woken up at 3 and 4 and don't go back to sleep. By the end of the work day I am dragging. Very tired at night.
I am hoping it improves over the weekend.
Sleep well my friend. "

" I'm wondering if a little Melatonin from the health food store would get things on track -

When I am really wired - and know I am not resting well - I have one beer close to bedtime -

It brings this relaxed feeling and makes me feel sleepy

but I can be an abuser - so I have to monitor everything I do - one beer - maybe 5 mg of melatonin -

I don't wake up till morning

I notice without proper sleep - T the next day is less tolerable and I feel just worse and grumpy and impatient with noise and people - well rested - my coping skill goes up - boy you need coping skills for that crazy T - "

" Liz,
Thanks! I hope that you get to sleeping better too. My T is loud enough during the day but it really sounds magnified when I can't sleep during the night. My sound machine doesn't help much either but things could be alot worse.

Mandie,
I tried melatonin a long time ago and it didn't help any but I haven'tried it recently. I have really gotten stubborn about not taking any unnecessary meds. Thanks for the suggestion though.

" Well, I can tell you that my dog thinks 5:00a.m. is 6;00 a.m. regardless what the clock says. His badder says its time to go out so I have to let him go out of course and then I am wide awake.
And if I get a good nights sleep, I do notice I am getting tired earler.
I guess it will take a few weeks.
It better take my dog a few days or he may be sleeping on the porch.
Just kidding. "
