for a long time I have had tinnitus to the point I have had a pulsing buzz, ringing like alarm bells, breakthrough ringing at times during the day (worse at night) ear pain burning head pain vertigo diziness balance problems etc.
I have extreme sensitivity to sound and yet my hearing gets muffled. I saw an ear specialist that just said tinnitus. later on my GP said my ear drums were curved from pressure of fluid build up. I found the ringing, the pain, the vertigo getting worse. I asked my Dr. to check out my ears. He called it eustachian tube dysfunction. He recommended (again) nasal sprays and benadryl but I cannot tolerate either and they provided no relief before. I dont know if it is connected I have continuous head pain. It doesnt stop. The left side of my face is painful burning but almost numb hard to describe. I did a search for that here (ETD) and came to this discussion group. This is my first time posting. I am at a loss as to what step to take next. Posted on 06/23/09, 11:06 am |

Hi,
I suspect I have the same problem in one ear - the ear responsible for my tinnitus . However I have had no such diagnosis and of course not much tinnitus support except that which I sought myself. That said I live a normal life and have learned to live with tinnitus. I wish you well

I have both etd and tinnitus. I don't have the pain you talk about though. My ears just feel full like on a plane when landing! Sometimes I try otrivin(nasal spray) to help. I hope you overcome this battle soon. I know how hard it can be to cope not only with the tinnitus but with all the other symptoms you have. Good luck!!

I cant remember it right now, but there is a neuropathy associated with the type of facial pain that you describe. You should look into that aside from the tinnitus. I have tinnitus and a neuropathy in my arm which seems to be going away since I went gluten free.
