I have been suffering from meniere's disease for several years now, with the vertigo, nauseau, fullness in my right ear, etc. Recently I have had some hearing loss and accompanied by that I can hear my heart beat in my ear 24/7. It is so frustrating because I cannot hear over the sound. I hardly socialize anymore because I cannot hear people above the beating, especially if the place is noisy and crowded. Does anyone have this, and has anyone found anything that helps? Thanks

Yes I have experienced that. It was a problem with my sinuses and it took a few weeks to go away. I had that plus the usual high pitched sound I usually hear.
My ENT said to use Sudifed and salt water washes in my nose until I felt better. I hope you feel better soon. Sandy

Hi, I do not have Meniere's but I suffer from some of the same symptoms you describe, like hearing the heartbeat sound and hearing loss. It's very disturbing and I can relate to you. Apparently these symptoms, called pulsatile tinnitus, can result form a variety of causes, like Meniere's. If you do a search for "whooshers" you'll find some more information about pulsatile tinnitus. At whooshers dot com other whooshers have posted their experiences and tips. It's helpful to hear from others and to know that you're not alone. Beyond that, I have good days and bad days, but I try to mask the sound when I can with white noise.

Thank you for the site. I'm going to check it out and the only thing that has helped me so far is knowing that other people suffer this terrible problem. I've had the pulsatile since the day it started. I'm so thankful to have found this group. I look forward to checking it a couple times a day because it makes me feel not so alone. I've been to about 5 doctors and they just act like they don't care but I live in a small town. So maybe that is the problem. Thanks for all the information and knowing we are not alone.

I also suffered from heartbeat in my ears. All tests were negative for a cause. I was on a mini vacation & had a massage. Much to my surprise when I put my head on the pillow about 2 hours later, no heartbeat in my ears!
When I returned home I went to a chiropractor, was told I had a misalignment in my cervical spine, I had two chiropractic adjustments & that was one year ago & I have not had the heartbeat problem again. You might try it - worked for me, thank heavens!
