Tinnitus Support Group

Welcome to DS. In another post you mentioned you lived in a room for 3 weeks with a very loud air conditioner, three fans going and your husband turning up the TV volume. If you weren’t experiencing the problem before the heat wave, then it wouldn’t surprise me if you’re experiencing some mild hyperacusis. This happens to me when in that type of environment (computer room) as well as my tinnitus growing louder and more annoying. Both problems seem to subside after a few weeks. I wear ear plugs now.

When my allergies flare up so does my tinnitus. When this happens, I take the Safeway generic brand for Claritin. The label displays: “Non drowsy, 24-hour Allergy Relief”; it’s Loratadine 10mg. I hope this helps.
