" I am trying a very expensive Treatment called Neuromonics. Many people on this site think it's snake oil. I don't know yet. It is a very long term treatment, and it takes lot of time. I am still in Phase 1, so I still ear mt T all the time I am not wearing my device. The device acts as a Masker at this point, which gives me relief. I have to say I am sleeping better, better ale to concentrate, and no longer am in fear of T. I have a occasional Xanax at a low dose f I need it. And then there's wine!!! "

" Hi

For me 75mg amitriptyline every night has fixed my sleeping problems and has reduced my T from, say, an 8 to a 4 or 5. In summary, it has allowed me to get on with my life and I'm probably down to noticing my T just once or twice a day. I've had T for about 10 months now so there is probably some natural habituation occurring as well.

There are mixed trial results for amitriptyline. For some it works for others it is very ototoxic. If my friend takes it, his T goes crazy. So be warned.

Good luck - Jason "

" I have been on TRT(Tinnitus retraining Therapy) for 17 months and my T is down to a low hiss. I don't take any medication to sleep all I use is a sound machine at night--I like the rain sounds best. Never be in complete silence always have some sound around--radio, TV, CD's etc. Get busy and don't focus on your T. I know this is hard to do, but it does help. I try to think "It's only a noise" and it won't hurt me,and this helps. It does get better just give it time. "
