Our daughter is dropping now with her plateletts and her other counts are low as well. This is a chronic situation and we see steroids coming soon. They make her life terrible and we have asked about Rituxin to our Hemo but she is concerned about serum sickness? Our daughter is 12 and has Evans Syndrome which means her antibody's are attacking herself. She take Azathioprine/Plaquenil/Iron supplements/Folic acid for hair loss. She was diagnosed with Lupus complications as well but it seems to be in medicated remission at presaent. The Lupus support group has been fantastic but now we need info if possible from itp/aiha suffers thanks you

" I just was diagnosed with my itp a month or so ago. i am going to try the rituximab..but i haven't began yet..i have taken prednisone deximethisone and so on these only kept my white blood cells to where i can stay out of the hospital but still my platlets have only at the highest been 12. but i was reading and most people said that they only got a fever from it and felt nauseated...im sorry about your daughter thats alot to handle! im 15..its kind of crappy to deal with. " Gabby216 thank you for your response. Being your 15 and our daughter is 13 now could she ask you a few questions?
Good luck with your treatment/rituximub and keep your strength up. 12 is very low. Its a lot for someone your age to deal with. all the best "

" she can most definantley tlk to me about it! i don't know exactly when i will be going on it though. my parents have taken me to different hospitals to get a 2nd opinion about the drug and it's looking like im going to have another bone marrow aspiration before i start the iv treatment.. but if you need my email or anything to get to me faster don't be afraid to ask! im more than happy that someone finally replied to this i've been needing someone to talk to! and yes 12 maybe a low number but it's the highest its been since i've been out of the hospital!
