I'm so confused at this point. This all started May 23. My son woke up with a nose bleed. An i couldn't get it to stop. So i took him to the doctor. Thats when she discovered that his platelets we down to 18 thousand. She tells me that he has to go in the hospital for a couple of days. So we ended up being in the hospital for 4 days an 3 nights. They gave him some medicine in an IV called IViG. In which this brought his platelets up to 53 thousands. By Friday they were up to 143 thousand. So i thought this was just something cause by a virus like the doctor said. So we go see the hematologist 2 weeks later and they have dropped back down to 34 thousand. So by this time im thinking to myself. Its something more than just a virus that keep causing his platelets to drop like this. They do another IViG and they schedule him to have an Bone Marrow test done cause they think he has something called ITP. These last there weeks have been so stressful for me. Running back and for to the doctor. Having to carry a box of tissue in my purse cause im in fear he will have another nose bleed. Oh i forgot to mention he 9 yrs old. If anyone have any advice encouraging words in willing to listen.
