Hi Guys (and gals)
i am posting here today just to say hi and to talk about my partner and his amazing strength. He has been diagnosed with TC for the second time (first in april 2004 had orchiectomy and chemo 4 rounds as stage 2,second was october 2011 has had again orchiectomy and unsure on chemo as stage 1 but will prob have at least 1 round) He is all of 33 years of age and has been the strongest and bravest man i have ever known. I have been with him for close to a year, we met after he hit the 5 year survival mark from the first TC and have been with him through his second diagnosis, have been to all the appointments and was waiting for him when he got out of surgery. I am so proud of him and the things he is going through and how he is handling it. We want children (we have none of our own as yet) and i know we obviuosly cannot concieve naturally but hey that is a road you know you have to cross in the future. All i am saying is reading the posts from the men that have lost 1 or 2 and say they feel "less like a man" i am sad that you feel this way. I think men who have had testicular cancer need to look at it as "i have been through this ordeal and i have come out the other side stronger and a better person for what i have gone through" and if someone wants to comment that you are a lesser man, that is when you stand up and tell them to F**K OFF and when they have gone through surgery and chemo/radiation they can come and talk to you about being a "Lesser" individual. Also i want to add that if you have had TC once please after the 5 year survival please keep having regular 12-18month ultra sounds as just because you have the all clear doesn't mean you cannot get it in the other one. Sorry to hear about this second case. I have been cancer free for 14 years and still go to have checkups every year. Now you have answered why I still go. There are other ways to have children obviously, so don't let that get in the way. I hope this is the last struggle with cancer for him.

I am also a 2x testicular cancer survivor. First time was in march 2001. I was 25 at the time. I went eight years cancer free. Then in feb 2009 it returned. It was a total shock!!! Still kinda is sometimes now.

That is inspirational. I lost one of my testicles growing up, undescended. So I only have one, but I'm freaking out because I just found a lump on my one testi so I'm going to get it checked out this morning. Trying not to worry too much but I am thinking "what else could it be?"
Wanting to procreate is definitely something I want to do. I guess it's about to be a journey into the unknown for me. Thanks for the post though, it gives a different side to the coin. I'm only 27.
