Male, 46, Single buffalo grove, IL, USA Member since March 12, 2008 Change Photo About Me I have not been able to open my mouth all the way for 3 years.I can only open it enough to stick my little finger in thats it.I have had like 20 MRIs and 10 CT scans. At first they thought a brain tumor so i have had 2 brain biopsys and nothing just said granuloalouse witch just means imflmations. And I have fluid that has been coming out my eyelid and now coming out of my ear.It is not a infection it is not TMJ.I have been to all the hospitals in the chicago area and even went to the Mayo clinic.Nobody can help me no one knows what is wrong with me.I am going in for a procedure tuesday the 3rd of november 2009 for them to try and stretch my mouth open.I have had that done before with very little help.I know there is fluid that is blocking my mouth from opening.Because when it started coming from my eyelid the eye DR. lanced it [cut it open] to release the preasure and i got like a 1/4 cup of fluid out of there and my mouth opened to where i could put 3 fingers in my mouth but after about 4 mouths the fluid built back up and closed my mouth again.I have seen so many DR. and no one knows what to do keep sending me away to different DRs.I really dont know how long i can take the pain any more I have lost so much weight from no able to eat I cant stand it.If anyone can help please tell me.Thanks Don Posted on 11/05/09, 01:11 pm |

Hello---
I'm so sorry to hear what you are dealing with. My gosh that has to be absolutely horrible , and maddening that no one seems to diagnose the problem correctly. What did they say at Mayo? Can they refer you to a University or some other place like Mayo to get checked out? I pray for you that you get answers very soon. BTW---you live really close---I"m in Northern IL. as well. It sounds like to me that it would be on the lines of a good neurologist to diagnose you. I"m sure you've been to many already. Have they biopsied the fluid? You would think that they could figure it out going that route, knowing what type of fluid it is.. Keep us posted, I wish you the best of luck, -------take care.

Jeeez, it sounds like you have been through the wringer. I feel so bad for you. I know that alot of your pain must come from worry. There is nothing worse than the unknown. I agree with Hopeful....sounds like they need to check out what type of fluid you have. Keep us posted. I sincerely hope you find out what is going on. Good luck to you!
