" It has happened but I have read many things saying the odds are low...I have read a few things saying the odds are higher....truly though I discounted the odds being higher as crap...this is how I look at it. Before Nick, who was born healthy, I had 2 healthy boys. I am sure it can happen, however I am sticking ym head in the sand and proclaiming denial on this one, I think all of you parents with newbies should too....we have enough to worry and freak over without adding to it. We have to let faith not fear guide us. (I borrowed that from Akisha because it's truly and awesome frame of mind and soooooooo true!!!!!!) "

" Not sure what the research shows, but when we took our Emma in for her 3 year check up a few weeks ago, we talked about family histories and such, and he said we were at high risk for SIDS with subsequent pregnancies since Lindsey had passed from it. I hope it's LOW! It kills me to think of it. "

" I can never find an answer to that question either...they said that if i had pregnancies that followed, I would be high risk and such...but my girl did have a diagnosis that she had endocardial fibroelastosis (a thickening of the heart wall lining) that caused sudden death. (In some states itw oudl have have been listed as SIDs though. ) Faith over fear...I like that one. "

" I have to say I love all of you it feels so good to sit down at night and read over all your posts
It is comforting for me
I am new to all of this terrible pain- It was 1 month on 10-26-09 that my Grandbaby Logan passed and my daughter is struggling as well as I
All we see is 1st Halloween, 1st Christmas everyone is preparing to take their little ones trick or treating and its killing her

I loved the let FAITH lead us not FEAR "

" I did some research when Colton passed away and found that the ONLY reason it is proclaimed to happen in the same family is because nobody knows what it is. I read somewhere (don't have the source though) that 78% of the SIDS cases from 1950s - 1990s were found to be abuse, 20% affixiation or suffication, and the rest undetermined. We fall under the undetermined so the chances of it happening are SO RARE. "
