Did anyone see or get a copy of the police report? My Austin died at daycare and even though I trust my daycare provider, I am curious as to what the report said... although, I'm not sure... it may do more harm than good to read it.
Thanks

" My daughter passed away at home, but if she would have passed at daycare, I know myself and I definately would get a copy of the report. I am the type that has to know everything about my baby and what happened. Of course everyone is different but I can't imagine that you would be denied access to it. I would assume the parents have a right to have a copy of it. "

" Thank you everyone for your comments. My husband called the detective assigned to our case and she is mailing us a copy of the report. I don't know whether I will be able to read it or not, but at least we will have a copy in case we decide to.
Thanks again! "

" They told me that was confidential- our day care provider tried committing suicide immediately following the event! We have not spoken with her since. She tried to save our daughter by doing CPR for 25 minutes- the call her husband who called 911- they were able to rusticate Kendal but her brain had died... I would love to see the Police report as well! "

" I am glad that you ordered it. We did as well, all though we totally trust and love Audrey's daycare, it was hard to look at and i did it in sort of steps. It just apeased that there was no wrongdoing, which I knew, but that it was just for some reason what happened "

" From my understanding under the FIOA (Freedom of Information act) is that you can obtain police reports on closed investigations.
So until there is an actual cause of death and a death certificate filed, there is a chance that the investigation could still be open. I know this stinks, but these things take time.
I have not requested the report, I have no desire to, my son was at home with my husband. "
