I still have all his clothes in his basket unwashed, after 2 yrs I can still smell him on the clothes . I don't smell them often because I'm afraid that if I pull them out too much the smell will go away. I also still have his breast milk in the fridge !! My husband wants me to throw it out and I can't bring myself to do it , I've tried a number of times and I can't I've also tried to wash his clothes but I CAN'T!! What do ya'll think?

You are not crazy... well that is coming from someone else who hasn't done Austin's laundry (and I don't think I ever will). As far as the breastmilk, I had a TON of it in my freezer. My mom came over one day and got rid of it for me. We got so much food after Austin died, we needed the freezer space. I remember pooring out the bottles of milk that I had pumped at work the day Austin died. I cried and cried.
You aren't crazy though, just a mommy trying to make it from one day to the next without her baby boy.

I think as long as it doesn't hurt you or anybody else then it's ok. It's been 2 years for me and I have washed my sons things and boxed them up and I did not wnt to, but afterwards I did feel a lil relieved that I had finally done it. It doesn't mean I love him any less but we do go on and for me it helped, but it was very hard to do.

nope, you aren't crazy....you are a mom who misses your boy. It's going on 2 years here amd I have all of my son's things packed away and I have not gotten rid of anything yet, but I do plan on starting soon. I was not ready before. You are the only one who knows when you will be ready to take that step.

I kept his dirty diapers in the diaper genie for seven months! One day this summer my four year-old told me to throw them away. :) I still haven't washed his sheets and his baby blankets. I will never wash his sleepers, I love seeing the spit up mess on the front of them. I also had a tough time pouring his milk down the drain. I still have a box of his oatmeal cereal in the cupboard.

You are not crazy at all. It's been 17 months for us, and I still have all my daughters unwashed clothes in a suitcase. The outfit she wore the night before she died, she spit up in. It's still there. (We moved just a week after she died). I have the clothes that she wore to the funeral in an airtight bag. I haven't opened it, but part of me wants to open it and get a good whif of her scent if it's still on them. Like others have said...only you will know when/if the time is 'right'.

No, you're not crazy. I still have James' diaper bag in my bedroom and I just recently threw out the breastmilk and James is my grandson. It's been a year and a half since he been an angel. I did babysit him everyday after work and on Saturdays so that is why I had breastmilk in my freezer. There are other things that breastmilk is good for. I think it great for the skin if you need an excuse to keep it

I kept a bottle of breastmilk in my refrigerator for over a year. I too could not get rid of it. I only have a very few articles of clothing that are unwashed. My husband immediately washed all her clothes. I let him, and later regreted it. I love to smell my children and I wish with my whole heart that I would not have let him wash her clothes. I don't think anything you said is weird at all.
