Facial contortions

Does anyone else make some wierd facial contortions when they stutter? I would be fine with the repetition of words and the long pauses, its just the faces i make when trying to force a word out. They change as well, I used to grind my teeth when trying to get a word out and at one unparticularly fun time, bite my tongue, even made it bleed during a few conversations.
I just seem to make some of the wierdest faces which is always what gets to me.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'd love to know if it was just my own way of "dealing" with it.

" No, you are not alone. My son doesn't do this but the speech therapist has mentioned it many times as being something that would of classified my son's stutter as severe, instead of moderate.

What you're doing is either called tension or tremors. You can look at this link and decide what you're doing better yourself. Be sure to look at the video (it's small though). I bet you could look on YouTube and find some better examples.

" Hello,
I do it to. I only started stuttering last year when I got depression. When I am so low, I don't talk because each word is repeated 7 or 8 times and its too stressful. When I say 'm' or 'n' my head does this weird movment thing. Its really embarrasing but I presume its normal...I don't know. But I do it too

" Jono, you are not alone. I also do it. My eyes twitch and I make these weird, uncontrollable expressions with my face. It is so embarassing. "
