How to deal with stuttering/ make it go away

Well, after several years of being emotionally abused by my psychopathic ex- stepfather I have developed a stutter (which I wonder might have surfaced due to tensions in my body from the psychological damage done to me). I only stutter when I talk, not when I sing (oddly enough... I'm a singer, by the way). It gets even worse when I'm around the house or get very eager (for instance when I try to share an idea of mine which seems brilliant at the time). I never had this problem until very recently; at least I never noticed it until now. How do you deal with stuttering? Is there any way to make it go away?
Thanks in advance. Love, Vittoria Posted on 05/16/07, 09:05 am |

You could see a speech therapist or do what my speech therapist recommended: read out loud with someone and try to control your stuttering.
