I think that if your doc has ok'd excercise,sex should be okay too.But I would ask the doc.because we are all at different stages of recovery.Take care!

it has been safe for me so far, but every BI is different so i would for sure ask doc, dont b afraid to, i asked mine and he was discreet

i definitely don't think it is TMI. I had the same concern after mine. Check with your doc and then get back in there. It was a great morale booster for me to know that my husband and I could still be that intimate and that he still wanted me sexually even though I was now disabled. Good luck! Hugs

thanks for the advice everybody...i will be seeing my doctor in a few days so i will definitely ask him...i was mainly concerned because i have vasculitis, which is an inflammation of the blood vessels, in my case it's in my brain...but i had a test done and the preliminary results are that my veins are "good" now...sooo...we'll see what he has to say! i know my husband can't wait until we see him! ha ha!

Well, I am no expert on strokes, but I had a few small strokes 2 years ago (complications of my brain injury). I have had no problems whatsoever. my girlfriend and I have a very health sex life and I believe that sex is a healthy part of a committed relationship. But, as another person posted, your doctor would be the best person to ask about this sort of thing.

First get the doctors approval.
Second is it safe? Well I dont know maybe hanging off the ceiling is out, or a moving car, but I know frmo experience it is safe and very good for both you and your partner.Always remember it takes two, and they are just as scared and worried as you are, so take your time ask and answer questions. well, saw the doctor today, but totally forgot to ask him about it! but good news, the veins in my brain are back to normal (for now), so i'm thinking that it should be okay to have a little "boom-boom"...ha ha!

just remember, whatever you do; protect your head at all costs! (means, no banging of head on the headboard hehe!)have fun and enjoy the moment; i'm sure your hubby/partner has waited in suspended animation/anticipation!

I just got the newest edition and this discussion post just reminded mer of this article in the new magazine about sex for stroke survivors. You should check it out! i believe you can also request a subscription online. check it out, girl! It's a very good and helpful magazine, with tons of information about stroke and useful products for use by folks like us.anyway, just thought i'd add this bit of info, just for you and hasheeand all our other 'new'members.
