Help for stroke and fatigue

My dad had a minor Ischemic stroke a few months ago. He is a smoker and is 62 yrs old. Most of the side effects have been mild except the fatigue. He thinks it is the Plavix, which may be true, but obviously I am not a fan of him stopping it. Are there any other combined treatments that work to combat or improve fatigue? Obviously exercise, which has been tough to get him motivated, but maybe any prescription or supplement treatments?

" In my three years since I am still quite fatigued each day. I have never seen any research that explains it or a recommended treatment for it.

" I too was very fatigued after my stroke. I asked my doctor and physical therapist about this. They both said that it is normal. The body has gone through alot and is trying to recover. They both recommended that resting was important but also trying to get out and walk was important(for me because I need to retrain my brain with the balance I lost, and to help with my weight) I have noticed that my fatigue is getting better with time. I do feel better that the doctor said fatigue is normal and some people just struggle with it more than others and they don't know why.

" As far as i can see, the fatigue is common and doesn't go away. Along the way, you learn different ways to compensate.
For me, I don't nap during the day to try to get a better night's sleep. Because if I sleep any during the day, that's it for the night, it's totally messed up. It's different for everyone. "

" Speaking of supplements, the only thing I do that does help me somewhat is I take a multi-vitamin every day faithfully. When I don't, I can tell a difference. "
