" Dashia, If you go to www.payless.com and put velcro in the search box you will get a number of different styles including Mary Janes. I got a couple of pair here but then I'm a guy and really don't care about shoe style.
Or try www.llbean.com and search for velcro again. A NewBalance shoe shows up if a athletic shoe will do.

" Dashia, You really don't need a special shoe, usually just a size larger and take out the insole and the AFO should fit just fine "

" Dashia, As an orthotist and maker of those pesky AFOs, I recommend New Balance, Drew, PW Minor &Dr. Comfort shoes. As oc1dean said, removing the insole from any shoe is necessary to ensure adequate room for the AFO and your foot. Take your AFO into the store. Look only for shoes with easily removable insoles, Try the shoe AND the AFO on to ensure a good fit. If you have can't feel your feet have someone else judge a proper fitting shoe for you. (Getting a sore on your foot is not worth the vanity). You should look for a certified pedorthist (shoe and foot specialist) to help with shoe selection. Now you know what my patients hear from me everyday. Spending a few bucks on footwear and consulting a professonal will be well worth your while.
