How to handle difficult employee's. What if you have employee's that just nit pick on you and say stuff that is hurtful, everytime you encounter them, trying not to let it bother me but it is. My boss can't stick up to these guys or won't, cause she is a woman I guess. I just don't get it, I have to be on my best behavior but these other employee's just get away with all kinds of crazy stuff. They steal some of my items I leave on a truck (I am a truck driver) and I had a stuff toy I had in the truck and they ripped the head off of it. It's getting to where I can't concentrate at work and making some mistakes I normally wouldn't make. So I guess I am stressing out.

" Hi Mike,

Welcome to the board! :D. I've worked w/ quite a few difficult people in my day so I know how you feel. Is there a way that you can lock up any of your items when you leave or keep your most valuable items w/ you or even remove them so that they don't have anything to break. If not, my best advice would be to just be as work cordial as you can w/ your employees and try to keep your distance personally as much as possible if you can especially if its effecting your work.

I've been there too w/ difficult co-workers that made work distracting and its usually their backstabbing and/or manipulative ways that do them in every time. Not to mention that the backstabbers I've usually worked w/ ALWAYS liked to bring other co-workers personal problems to the job, which was inappropriate too.

To be honest, I don't think that manipulative or backstabbing co-workers realize that they are always being watched so to speak even when they think no one is looking and then they either get caught in some type of lie and are fired or quit when their manipulative ways no longer works. .

For me, I'm a personal believer in the saying that "an unwise fool is always hung by their own words and if you give them an inch they will always hang themselves by the yard".

Therefore, I know its hard but just try the best you can to focus on work and try not to think about your employees. Besides from your post, I'm pretty sure that you boss already knows who is an upstanding employee and who isn't.

Good Luck! :D "
