Stress Management Support Group

I want you to pity this man because he is in a job he can't handle, and no management skills. It is a well known fact that when you feel the need to shout at your staff then you have lost control and then you resort to shouting as a means of control!
You can either just stay as you are or make a change, I might suggest you befriend him and find out if you can help this poor man and inturn have a better working environment, but that would mean setting aside your loathing of him, can you do that?
Who knows if you are that useful to him you may get a rise or promotion?

If you want something to change, change something!

I tried to do just that from the day I first started, I am a very easy person to get along with . well come christmas time i even bought him a gift cause well hes the boss and everywhere ive worked you do that noone else bought him anything. my coworkers asked me omg why did you buy that jerk something, im like well i see it as everyone deserves respect why get everyone in the office something and not him? well he said thank you looked extremely shocked but then an hour later was just as rude as ever to me and everyone else. When he was going off cussing once i even asked is there something i can help you with to lighten your work load since you seem stressed hes like no if need anything you all will know it . heres the best example

I was carrying a 70 lb battery thru the door for a customer and couldnt shut the door due to my hands were full and here i am a girl trying to carry this heavy thing he looks at me and says you born in a damn barn shut the door your letting the air cond out.
umm im carrying this hes standing there and cant even get the door for me? I just replyed yes sir as soon as i sit this down i will.

thats just an example and that was the 2nd day i worked there.

hes just a miserable type person..
but it seems if he has a woman of the week hes nicer, ..
if he dont have any women hes worse.
i think its due to hes a heavy drinker and partier maybe, cause he does talk to everyone about his bar habits and such. maybe thats it ?

I have bosses that play alot of head games and keep changing the rules, it is very tiresome, I wish they would fire me. my boss seems so stressed out she tells me something then she forget's or say's I didn't say that. I don't know what the heck is going on, but I relate, alot of gossip too at my work, I try and stay out of it, but sometimes you get sucked in. I want to be better then what is going on around me? I am even asking for help from my supervisor who doesn't want me to get the help.

Workers have more power than they realize. Most companies will jump at the mention of the word "union". I admit that unions are nothing what they should be, but with a bit of work, I'm sure that can be remedied.

I'd research what you need to do in order to start your own union. There should be a zero tolerance for harassment and abuse at your workplace. So many people all over the world are so unhappy with their workplace and/or their bosses. Something needs to be done about it, but it seems that everyone is too afraid to.

oh geez! this guy is a real pig, i see what you mean! well its like i said, if you've tried to befriend him and nothing, then you either change your job if he really is making life intollerable, or just catch him in his office and come out with it "I'm fed up with you talking down to me in front of everybody and i should not be on the recieving end of your daily bad moods, i'm sick of it" you cannot be fired for standing your ground against verbal abuse, you do NOT have to put up with this! is there a higher boss, if there is have a word with him/her, but do something as nothing is worse than being in a bullied situation.
does he own the company?
If you do nothing, your self esteem will suffer and this is very bad!
i was bullied at school and when i left i said NO MORE! so i got a job and one of the office men kept on about my acne so after a day or so i reminded myself about my promise of no more and went in there and said "what is your problem with me, come on tell me" and like all bullies he spluttered out some old excuse by saying "its just a bit of fun" so i said OK then i'll have mine, if thats what you call fun around here! so as he was very tall and vey thin indeed, I started to call him lamp post (street light in uk) in front of the others and they laughed, much to his embarrassment. HE NEVER DID IT AGAIN!!!
in fact after that he couldnt do enough for me. Now i'm not saying this is the prefered approach, but at least i did something!
REMEMBER, ZERO TOLLERANCE OF BULLYING!!

yea there is a higher boss but the last few people who went to that level , lets say they werent long with the company after that
he brings the best #s in the whole company so nothing he does matters.
see you can be fired here for nothing
im in tennessse its called an employment at will state which means any employer may fire you with no cause and its legal , ive read up on it
it really stinks .
thats why its hard to find decent work here the labor laws in tennessee are a joke but we got our house here and land and all our family are here so we wont be leaving the state so just guess i need to pray to a new job comes along i have been job hunting since janurary with no luck so far.

Then if life at this company is intollerable, you must continue to look for another job, stay strong until then, keep your head down (i hope this means the same in usa? it means get on with your work and sort of fly under the radar) something will turn up if you keep looking and when you do leave make sure you totally spill the beans on bullyboy and tell them he is the direct reason for leaving! #s or not this will not sit well at the top level!

ok i am so lost now me and my hubby was out eating the other night and my boss walked in sat and eat with his friend
spoke was super nice . and left we got up to pay and he had bought our dinner this same guy who is so mean .?
what the heck i mean i appreciate it but i dont understand he was calling me stupid only 2 days earlier
maybe he is like my husband and has a split personality
i mean im thankful he was nice but im so confused...
