Physical Symptoms of Stress

I often find myself with physical problems caused by my stress. For example, muscle tension that leads to muscle pain over time, hyperventilation that leads to dizziness and difficulty concentrating, digestion problems, and so forth. I know that stress can contribute to problems like heart disease, so I even get stressed about the idea that my stress is going to hurt my health, which, of course, adds to my overall stress. (It's amazing how stress builds up on itself.)
What physical symptoms all of you experience due to your stress? What do you do to manage your symptoms? Has your stress caused / contributed to any serious health problems for you? Happiness to you. K Posted on 04/08/12, 11:19 pm |

I didn't used to get the stomach problems caused from stress but the last several years I have and each bout I battle with it is increasingly worse. The pain has gotten about unbearable. I do tend to let things go instead of confronting problems. It used to be the best thing for me but now it seems things just stay there and build one on top of the other. I don't know if its causing my stomach problems or vice versa. I get VERY easily overwhelmed if I'm forced to face more than one thing at a time. I just can't handle it. I'm a very focused thinker who comes across as being "slow" at times. I just automatically go into deep thought.

I was under a lot of stress and didn't realize it was physically hurting me. A few months ago I was experiencing dizziness, palpitations and tingling in my arms. I was always tired. I had some bloodwork done back in february and it seemed I was a healthy person. I thought my symptoms were mental. I didn't do anything to help myself back than and in June I was diagnosed with gastritis due to stress. Now I suffer from anxiety. I have knots in my nerves and need relaxants to sleep. I have tingling in my arms and legs. I tried a massage and it worked, but then the tingling and tension came back. Now, I'm looking for different methods that might help me mentally to stop my anxiety and stress. :(

Oh wow yes I understand that! I am stressed a lot and it makes my head hurt! I get blurry vision and aching muscles. IT drives me crazy because the stress just trigger worse anxiety and then I unravel completely. My mom was always stressed like super bad so I may have gotten that from her. Sometimes it's so bad I get physically sick to my stomach and dizzy. That is when it's bad! I need to learn to just relax and breath sometimes... but its bad! :/
