On May the 9th I jumped my dirtbike 200ft and didnt quite make it, and ended up falling 40ft landing on my left leg and ended up shattering my talus bone and ankle dislocation, I finally had surgery 3 weeks later and there trying to save my foot, the problem is that 6 months later im no better then I was when the accident happened, my foot still hurts bad and have very bad fracture blisters which are now holes in my foot that will not heal, im all for a below the knee amputation and in my opinion I think I would be better off and have a better life, I've done alot of research on this injury and the success rate is not good, most do not gain full use of there feet, and i guess my question is do any of you think that amputation would be the best route to go, my doc says no but then again hes not me, im a very active person and i really want to get back on my bike, and get back to life, and im afraid that all this im going through in the long run will not be worth it, with mobility and all. And I do have alot of faith in God, I just dont want to be crippled up the rest of my life, any of yalls opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

" It takes a long time to get better, and longer than most people think? I had knee Surgery in late March and the knee still hurts when i am on it more than a few hours.
I hope you get several opinions because there are so many new advances in this field of injuries. And.. some docs specialize in one particular thing, like my mom is getting a hip replacement and her doc only does hip surgery, it is his specialty.
Also, for non healing wounds, sometimes hyperbaric treatment.
Hope this may help you , but stay in touch, ok?
