heya,
iv recently had surgery on my knee because it kept constantly dislocating. i had my knee cap pinned to my shin, i had this done almost a year ago, and im still not fully healed, i still cant bend it completly, straighten it properly, run or do anything i used to, i had an mri scan on it a couple of months ago as the hospital had no idea what was wrong, turns out in surgery my meniscus was torn, but thats apparently not affecting my movement in it. the hospital have no idea what to do about it i was just wondering if anyone else who has had this done or somthing similar happen could possibly help me with it, as its a agony and as im only 18 effects me alot. thanks x Posted on 09/24/09, 04:09 pm |

I am not sure why you were told that the torn menicsus is not affecting your movement. Also why would they not know what to do?
They should repair the tear, either with stitches or trimming the torn part off. Depending on the tear location and severity, you could have major movement issues. With my tear, I had trouble just standing on my right leg! The tear happened during surgery, to get them to fix what the broke. After the fix, go to physio for proper exercises to do. My two major exercises related to bending the knee as much as possible and straightening the knee as much as possible. I suggest getting the tear fixed and see how it goes.
