Could this be due to too many weights/reps and aggravating my spine, or has this been slowly happening on it's own for a long ass time? I just found out today. Was wondering why I was always in pain. Just figured my abs weren't strong enough. Anyone else had surgery for this?

could be either. I wouldn't have surgery unless last resort. I found a physical therapist who specialized in myofascial release therapy. B4 I went to her I had 2 bulging/1 ruptured. 2 or 3 nerve blocks and meds for muscle spasms/pain. It took about 6 months to a year but my last MRI showed no ruptures or bulging discs! I had tried other PT's with no luck! Alot of people think myofascial release is a massage but if you go to someone who is certified/trained then it shouldn't be a massage. Hope this helps.
