I have been trying to find out what my MRI reports mean. I like to research things before going into the doctor so I can know the full range of treatments in case the doctor I see is stuck on only one.

MRI results show:
increased signal is noted in the supraspinatus tendon where there are findings of tendinopathy, partial tears and a complete or near complete 12 mm tear at the distal anterior insertion and in addition, there seems to be slight atrophy of the supraspinatus muscle. The infraspinatus and teres minor appear unremarkable. There appears to be mild tendinopathy of the subscapularis. The proximal long head of the biceps tendon appears intact and in the bicipital groove. Mild degenerative changes are noted in the glenohumeral joint. Degenerative changes are noted in the labrum. There is a small joint effusion. There is a small effusion in the subacromial-subdeltoid bursa. Degenerative AC joint disease appears to narrow the subacromial space and cause mild compression of the supraspinatus. There is no obvious bone lesion or bone marrow edema. There is no obvious mass, cyst or ganglion.
end report

OK can anyone tell me what this all means except that there is a reason for the pain I have been in! I am used to dealing with back and disc issues this is all new to me. I need some idea of what I am dealing with, please help!

" hi there im not a doctor or anything but have gone through both knees and both shoulders surgeries you had some of the problems i had. i just had my right shoulder done on july 16th of this year. and due to the ra i had some set backs so i start up again with physical therapy on sept 29th. but what they found on my right shoulder was shoulder impingement bone spurs two partial tears. its awfully funny that i told them something was wrong with my right shoulder after i had the left done and surgeon kept ignoring me saying that they couldnt find anything and said it might be fibro so for two years i lived in this pain. i still have pain in the left its with that one something similar but i also had the bursitis sac removed and also clavical shorten on right and left. also its sounds like you also have arthritis in your shoulder. i also have had neck pain which actually thats why i went to the doc. and after constant pressuring them to find out what was wrong with my neck that found stenosis/ arthritis wich they also blamed on fibromalgia. im sorry im rambling i dont know if i answered any of your questions but i think by reading this you have rotator cuff tears and arthritis and tendinitis. i hope this helped sorry for so long.
