I have an appt to see a back surgeon soon to see if anything can be done. All my life i've suffered with what i called a double butt crack....hygiene is a PIA and the gap between the two cracks is always tearing and getting irritated but in the last few years i've had excrutiating tailbone pain and doing my own research came across this - now as an RN i'm not an advocate of diagnosing one's self but i think i have proof. my daughters have the same thing and when i delivered i noticed on the patient board where they put the baby's name weight etc that my girls had a column that said dimple. they are 6 & 9 and this memory just came back to me and between the search for baby with dimple and tailbone pain i got this result. would love any info. i'm hoping this is something they can do something about because the pain is constant now.

" Sounds to me like the dimple that forms on a SB baby's back...does it also have a lump type thing on it (almost like a cyst) with a hairy patch? I have that on my back. I am 32 with SBO. "

" I did my sr seminar paper on sb and in my research on the types remember coming across the information that occulta is often diagnosed by accident in adults who never knew they had it when they have xray for another reason and that it is rather easily repaired by surgury. "
