sorry, never heard of that. sounds like it would hurt though! Why would you want to force that out of your bladder? Ouch!

Yes I have herd of it adn was taught how to do it for my daughter when she was 18 months old. Her bladder did nto empty on her own adn we have to make sure her bladder was empty. Probably was what heped her to stay on intermitten caths. She still does thsi procedure to make sure her bladder is empty. This is a toally safe and needed procedure for those whoj cannot empty theri bladder on their own. My daughter turned 33 last year and is doing great. Blessings

The procedure is very simple and does not any cause pain. The reason to do this procedure is to make sure the bladder empties so that urine cannot not go back up into the kidnesy. When my daughter was little and I first started cathing her the docs shared with me to place my hand on her lower stomach under the belly button and began to press downward and to do this every time that I cathed her. which was every two hours during the day and at 3:00 a.m. every morning. I did this until I taught her how to cath herself on the toilet when she was 6 yrs old. She then would press downward everytime she cathed which by this time was only four times a day and none during the night. She still does the crede method. I taught her how to cath on the toilet beacause I didn't want her growing up laying down on the floor which would have been harder for her to become independent. I hope this helps. Blessings

The push method was used from birth and i still use it now. You may find at first that your child will not like you pressing their tummy,so when i was younger my mum had to express my bladder, my mum would tickle my tummy to relax me and then she would press. i have a very stubborn bladder in that when i press over it i have to really press hard, if i cant get urine to flow, i have to use a clenched fist over the bladder and that works.
