HI EVERYONE! I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY OUT THIS GROUP BEFORE JOINING! I DONT SMOKE ALL THE TIME! I WONT SMOKE IN THE HOUSE BECAUSE MY HUSBAND HATES THE SMELL, AND I HAVE TWO VERY SMALL CHILDREN AND I NEVER SMOKE AROUND THEM! BUT I DO SMOKE WHEN MY FAMILY IS MAKING ME CRAZY, AND WHEN IM IN SOCIAL SITUATIONS WHERE OTHERS ARE SMOKING (ESPECIALLY IF I HAVE A DRINK OR TWO) I DONT WANT TO SMOKE AT ALL ANYMORE! I DONT THINK IT WILL BE AS HARD FOR ME TO QUIT ALTOGETHER AS IT WOULD BE IF I WAS A FULL TIME SMOKER, BUT I COULD STILL USE THE SUPPORT OF FRIENDS WHO ARE QUITTING TOO! I'VE TRIED ONCE OR TWICE, BUT THEN STRESS GETS TO ME, AND THERE WE GO AGAIN!

" Hello Nature, let me be the first to welcome you to our group. This is one of the best support groups you can find. The members here really do care about each other and will go out of their way to help some one starting. I've been smoke free for 118 days now and it was with this groups support that got me to this point. I used to smoke daily about a pack a day and now I don't miss them or want one. If you choice to join us, you will find all the support you need, and like you said it should be easier for you. You may believe that but if you do, then why don't you just quit. Quitting is tough and you will need the support of this or another group to make it. We welcome you with open arms and hope you make the decision to better your life and be around for a long time for your husband and children.
Hope to hear from you soon and best wishes on a good decision. "

" Hey nature... becoming a non-smoker and coming here are both great choices. Beware that if you keep smoking against your will, no matter how much, you are addicted. You will need the right mindset to effect a successful quit. I recommend Allen Carr's book:

Looking forward to getting to know you and seeing you at roll call and pledge! "
