If I'm not going to smoke and I don't drink and I don't do drugs...What's going to be my new additiction? (serious question, stop laughing!)I need something that I can do in the car, at work, at home something that gives me some kind of relief to my aniexty, my need to be alone...I tried chewing on straws but that causes lots of saliva that goes to my stomach and makes me sick to my stomach. I'm up for serious realistic suggestions...I like to ride bikes, but I obviously can't do that every 30 mins, I'm a single mom with 2 kids and a full time job. I need something to do...Thoughts? Anyone do something new inplace of smoking?

" For me it was mint tic tacs at first, every time I would normally have a cig I'd have a tic tac.It just fulfilled the compulsion to be doing something after dinner/out walking/on the phone etc.I don't eat them now as I keep forgetting...a good sign hopefully. You may have to try a few things til you find one that works for you :) Good luck and welcome!!!! xx "

" I started drinking coffee. I bought all different kinds (I HATED coffee). Some with caffeine, decaff and some with 1/2 caffeine, different flavors, sweetners, half and half...you get the picture. I don't want to be on a caffeine high all day so I switch to 1/2 and decaf a lot. Now that I enjoy it because I found some that I like I use it in place of a smoke. Like first thing in the morning when I would roll out of bed to smoke...now I roll out of bed to drink coffee. When I NEED a break and would have taken a smoke break, I take a coffee break. I'm sure it's not the healthiest thing in the world but it's something. I also keep gum near. If I can't make a craving pass within seconds I shove some sugar free gum in my mouth and chew like mad.

Just know that you can do this no matter what. Even if you don't find a replacement you can do this. It's in your head and in your heart (I mean that in a good way). Stay focused, breath deep and take this one day at a time. Take care of yourself, you're worth it. "

" I am propably there with 2nd chancer, too! But also, gum. Around my 1st week after I ate dinner I realized I was out of gum, I HAD to go to the store and buy 2 packs so I wouldn't run out. 2 packs - two $$ and (as far as we know) non-cancerous! "
