what is "too much at once"

I stopped smoking on July 11th,09 just before going to the hospital with pneumonia on July 14th. I also just retired. I started looking for a part time job, as I miss being around people and talking to others. It seemed easier to quit smoking when I was working and talking to others. The cravings seem stronger now that I have time to myself. Any ideas from anyone on how to fill the void.

" Glad to see you Bigduck, Sorry to hear about the pnemonia but so proud of your quit!!!
Suck on hard candy and drink alot of water, chew gum. Also, do things that take up time when the cravings hit so your focused on something else. I love this new site I found. I has jigsaw puzzles online that are just beautiful. Each puzzle take between 5 to 10 minutes to complete so its a great distraction. There are 1000's of puzzles to chose from.
The site is: ngm.nationalgeographic.com/your-
shot/jigsaw-puzzles
Sorry I couldn't just link it for everyone but I'm computer challenged!!! LOL
You can do it and we are here to help. Let us know how you are doing. Hugs "

" Stay strong. It will get better. I've been tripped up at that mark before and slipped. You don't want that. I'm back to 12 days now instead of years where I should be. I'm proud of you because I know how hard this is. Try picking up a new hobby or something you have always wanted to try your hand at. Ohhh how about something you always wanted to do but said..I can't afford it? With all this money you are saving maybe you can go do it now. I say do anything that makes quitting more bearable for you. Take care and good luck! "

" hi and welcome. 2 months is great thats a huge achievement. This group has helped me stay quit. I can ask for advice her or just moan about how hard it is and people dont get sick of me. Its better than driving my family and friends crazy. We can support you too. I dont remember 2 months being a tough time for me butttttttt I was quite sick for the first 4 or 5 months of my quit. I seemed to pick up every bug going. I was really annoyed about that. I decided because i quit smoking I should never be sick again lol. Silly eh but thats what I thought.
Participate in the group that will keep you motivated and you can also help the newbies who are just starting out on their quitting journey
hugsssssssss Deb "
