i've been an off on smoker for awhile i think i could quit, i don't like the taste, i smoke half a box and throw the rest away, been end up buying another box later. chewing gum doesn't work or suckers, can't afford nicotine gum, mom asked if i smoked i lied and said no, im gonna try cold turkey,how do i deal with the gravings? anybody interested in being my friend and holding each other accountabl for 6-12 months for not buying smokes and not smoking at all?

" Oh sweetie, at least your trying, keep t up, I wished I could go one day, but I don't unless I have bronchitis, I hate that these cigs have so much control on us, I wished we could go to cigs rehab or something, i am always trying to find something to help me quit but the stuff is so expensive and it probaly doesn't work anyway! I will help support ya and pray for you and me to quit, I feel the effects from lack of energy and can't do the things I used to, If u can give them up go 4 it, We will all support ya, Best wishes Amy "

" Ive just started trying to quit recently and im up to about my 6th-7th try but i found that telling myself in the harshest voice i can muster up that i dont want a smoke, i want to do something physical (like skateboarding or going to the gym) helped me so far. It is hard and can take a while but you will make it :-) we will all help you "

" Keep on trying, don't ever give up. Keep telling yourself that you are a non smoker. Take deep breathes when you have a craving, take a drink of water, anything but giving in. Get some hard candy. Sunflower seeds are a good for helping. How about taking up jogging while you are young. How about getting after school job? The main idea is to keep busy. "

" Hello, I quit cold turkey. Set your quit date for a day that will be easy for you to be alone, have some peace and quiet. Then least amount of stress possible. Close the shades. Rent a movie that you have never seen. Make a bowl of popcorn. Get your favorite blanket and wash it, along with a clean pillow case. Just try to relax. The withdrawals are nothing to sneeze at. Just remember that nicotine is highly addictive like narcotics, and the let down is the same. Stay away from caffeine completely!!!!! Just relax and nap a little. It is very tough, but you can do it!! It is a physical addiction, no matter how much you smoke, just remember to talk to your brain...lol, teach it to listen to you! "
