Im on the 6th week and understand its up to me to take that final step but still smoking about 3 cigs. a day. This is my responsability and I assume it 100%.
On the other hand Pfizer promotes this product which is great to say the least along with personal assistance 24/7 which is BS at this end. Ive never received a famous call, text msg or e mail from them. Ive emailed them to the only address I have and get a return one saying the inbox is full. Great Business, Worst Service!!!! Sorry Im a bit upset. Its usually not the way I react. But what Ive achived has been on my own and with support from my DS Friends!!!! Hugs and Thanks to you all. PS Doesnt mean Im giving up on my quit. Posted on 06/07/09, 10:06 am |

Here's the thing, Chantix blocks the receptors that nicotine attaches to so those cigs aren't doing anything but poisoning you. If you would set them down, you would feel no different one way or the other. Right now you seem to be battling with the mental side of smoking. Have you read this book http://nerukom.googlepages.com/all... by Alan Carr? It will shed a lot of light on your current struggle. I didn't use Chantix's support service, I came here and it's been great!
Try the book, come here, and be strong, we're with you. I'm on day 8.

I'm on Chantix, I tried to use their support service and it's crap, that is what if found too. I smoked for about 2 weeks after starting
Chantix less each day until I quit on 04/21/09. It has helped me stay quit. And then I found this group and it has helped me be determined to never smoke again. You have to do it for yourself, but these folks help you not feel so alone in your quest. Congrats on making the decision to quit, that alone takes a lot of guts. Hang in there!

I only took the Chantix about 2 weeks. It made me feel "off", bad dreams, etc. I think checking in here, doing the daily pledge and reading Allen Carr's book helped the most. I do think that the Chantix helped before my actual quit date -- I really cut back the smoking alot that week.
Good luck, hang in there...

HIya Island Friend this is good, you are down to 3 cigs a day. All you have to do now is get rid of all your tobacco products take your chantix and dont smoke. The chantix will help and you will be smokefree. Please believe me you dont need those 3 cigarettes and you are in a great position to kick the addiction in the butt. You are going to have to make the decision to be smokefree Chantix isnt going to decide for you. it will help make the quit easier but it is up to you to quit and stay quit. Do the daily pledge here pledging not to smoke that day and do some reading on whyquit.com that will keep you motivated. It is time you took the control back you wont regret it, you will be healthier, more confident and richer. I hope to see you on the daily pledge tomorrow and you can buddy up with Brian cos he is on chantix and is 8 days smoke free. hugs Deb

I was also surprised that the company did not follow up with me. I was part of a Chantix study at the tobacco research center. After passing the test I never heard back from them! When I look back though, Chantix was only a very small part of my success. Good attitude, THIS GROUP and promising to NOPE no matter what is what I believe helped me succeed this time after many previous failed attempts. So happy you are not giving up!!

I'm going to tell you what a wise person said to me my last day, 3 cigarettes? really, what are you waiting for, just do it already!!! You can do it, you are that close! throw them out and be free!! I have been smoke free for 7 months! Chantix was my medical part and daily strength was my spiritual part/ my support! Congrats on your success so far and good luck on the rest!

I never received a follow up call either which does not make sense. I was part of a Chantix study and I would think they would follow up on their participants to check if they were still smoke free!
