Hello everyone. Well i have another health issue under my belt...Sigh.
My first night was last night with this machine. I didn't get any sleep. My question is. Today I feel like I have a cold. I'm coughing and feel pretty crappy. I called the help line with this same question about the cough and basically got blown off with,"its a virus going on now, Get ready!!" UGH. But I wasn't feeling this way before the machine.

And, I have vestibular issues and my ears are very sensitive and sore from last night. Is this normal? will this go away? I am always dizzy,(other health issues) And it seem that this machine is making it worse.

Come on people, talk to me..what's really going on with this damn machine???

" dizzy, you are going down in history to have everything wrong with you!!!!! Having said that, lol, my husband has very bad sleep apnea and has been on his mask/machine for about 7 years now or longer. The doctor said he had the worst case he'd ever seen. His machine has a humidifier and i'm sure yours does too. But, every single a.m. when he wakes up, he is so stuffed up and coughs up phlegm all the time. Sometimes it sounds like he's throwing up. I have asked him 100x's to ask his dr. about it when he goes in often to see him, and he says the dr. never says anything about it. Actually, in 2 wks. i'm going w/him to appointment. I am taking questions w/me.
I can also say there are times he wakes up thinking he is getting a cold and sometimes does but I seriously think his machine may cause some of that. He washes his every single a.m. and soaks in vinegar. He changes his filters often, but maybe not as much as he should. He now can not sleep w/o it. He hates the nose attachment and uses the mask only. When he travels, he will not leave home without.
It will take awhile to get used to, but he does feel better. I would call your place where u get equipment and make sure they know all your concerns. good luck. any questions, let me know, as i can ask him. Dee "

" I too recommend making sure that the humidifier on your machine is working. I've been on a week and the first 2 nights were horrendous and the last several much better. The first two nights and I didn't have the mask on right so the seal wasn't working just right and air was blowing by my chin (the first night) and by my eyes (the second night). Both of those days my face was red, the machine humidifier ran out of water and my throat felt a little scratchy and my eyes were bothered after the night where the leak was by my eyes. I read somewhere online to try the mask down lower on my face and this has worked to get the seal right and I've slept through the night most nights now. I feel a little better, assuming I'll feel even better in a month and my husband tells me I'm a little more pleasant now... Good luck. Definitely takes some time to get used to it. don't give up "

" ok that kinda sounds a littile normal..first make SURE that you are useing distilled water( made that mistake first night)seccond your humididty mave be too high/low you are just going to have to figure that out.....if you are getting too much condensation in the mask tuck the hose under the balnkets that helped with me.This takes time to get used to so if you arent getting sleep after about and hour -2 take it off and try again the next night...also i used tylenol pms for a few days and they helped with out with sleeping and no droggyness in the am.
