Hello,

I am new to this and have been getting symptoms of Central Sleep Apnea. I am scraed that I haev a brain tumor or a disease. I am 41 years old. It is not regular but sporadically, I am awoken because of not breathing. I do not snore often but do so at times. SOmetimes I gasp but most often it is a jerk awake while my heart beats very fast. After that I am wide awake until I get back to sleep again. I have not seen a doctor yet but last phyiscal wa excellent heart, lung and all other functions besides cholesterol. I am not tired during the day and do not get headaches. Can someone share with me or put me at ease. From my interent reading CSA is a concern of something sinister like a brain tumor. Please help. Thank you for your help.

" The best thing to do is get yourself to a Neurologist and ask for a sleep study. This is the only way that you will know if it is sleep oriented or that more testing needs to be done. Your symptoms sound very similar to sleep apnea, but I am not a doctor or sleep study tech. Please don't be afraid of the results...go find out for sure by having the testing done that will tell you...ease your mind. Stress will exacerbate a sleep apnea problem. Or go to the ResMed website and read their information and take their quiz...then...make the appointment!!! "

" you need a sleep study, it may help to tape record the events when you are asleep so you can play it to doc "
