Hi, I am kind of new to the whole cpap machine. I have had it for about 3 months and am finally getting almost 5 hours of sleep with the machine per night. I was wondering how much sleep does everyone else get with the machine to make them feel better? I feel better, but I still need a nap everyday. Any information or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm new to it aswell. I started about a month and a half ago. I've had great difficulty with finding a mask that doesn't irritate my skin. The new mask is great but it moves around and sometimes it blows really cold and dry air and I have to take it off about 3-4 am. I've been very fatigued in the morning but about mid-day I get energy. It has made quite a difference in my quality of sleep and for a while I really noticed a difference in my overall fatigue (for the better) and in my moods. I have an appointment with my doctor coming up on Friday and I'm hoping he will write a RX for it so that my insurance company will pay for it. I would encourage you to make sure your mask is fitting correctly and talk to your doctor about the issues that you are still having. Bless you!

I need to explain up front that I am now on Hydrocodone and fentanyl for my three broken ribs, but...I can sleep 10 to 12 hours at a time. That is a great improvement over my previous 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours sleep at a time. I have to admit it took me about five months to finally accept the whole thing. But, it was soooo worth it. It has been a year and 1/2 now and I sleep like a log. so, just stick to it. YOu'll be snoozing away before you know it! JOAnn

I still need naps, but I have fibromyalgia and lupus as well. I can definitely tell a difference without the cpap though. Without it I am draggy all day and the nap only sort of wakes me up. With it I am awake and alert until my energy runs out, then I need a nap. As was mentioned, use the cpap when you take a nap as well.
