Strange sensations in chest

I have been on the CPAP for sometime but I still get these weird feelings in my chest that keep me from going to sleep, my Dr doesn't give me any help. It is hard to explain, kind of like electric shocks going through my chest. It keeps me from being able to sleep, even with the CPAP.

Has anyone else experienced this? Every Dr I have told acts like they have never heard this before, am I the only one with it?

" I've had my CPAP for 6 years and have never experienced that. I don't know what it could be, evidently your doc doesn't know either. Maybe your air pressure isn't right? I don't know................. "

" Questions:
Is this only when you wear CPAP...
or does it happen without?
Does it happen any other time?
Do you have high blood pressure?
Diabetes?
Sounds to me like you need some rule-out tests.

" Oh yeah...what about Thyroid? I have no thyroid and prior to its removal, had "negative" thyroid tests...meaning they said there was no problem. Turns out I had Hashimoto's thyroiditis and one of the signs for me was "electric shock" type feelings in my chest when I lay down at night....

" Thanks Carol, something for me to research. I've had those feelings longer than I have been on the CPAP. It is only when I lay down, not only when the CPAP is on but the CPAP seems to heighten the feelings. I have blood pressure issues, although it is under control now and I am still having the feelings and I have been diagnosed recently as pre-diabetic. "
