Nose Hurts!

Oh my Lord, my nose hurts so bad from the mask. They have ordered a different one for me but until I get it, I am wearing the old one. I have had my machine for less than a week but my nose is red, swollen and blistered. Any suggestions? I don't want to put anything to cushion it because I am afraid I will choke while sleeping. I was suppose to have a job interview today but cancelled it. My glasses are crooked because of the swelling. Thanks for listening.

I have the Swift II, which is a nasal pillow mask. Sometimes my nose is irritated on the inside. Does the mask push too hard against your nose, especially the bridge of your nose? That is the main problem I had with my old mask, which is a FlexiFit 407.

Yes, the bridge of my nose hurts. I think there are other issues. I think that I have seepage issues. I woke up and I didn't feel any of the air blowing. So I adjust the mask and felt it but it settles against my nose and isn't effective. I have to call the Pharmacy to see if they have my new mask. I know the mask wasn't helpful last night cause I woke up feeling like I use to. Groggy and incoherant. Thank you!

Really? I can't imagine it being any smaller? I called the pharmacy and of course, they have no record of the new mask being ordered last week. I hate the pharmacy they make me go through. I had my prescriptions switched to Walgreens cause of the customer service and now when they gave me the machine, they said I have to go through the old pharmacy. YGG always something LOL. Thanks for the reply. Nice to know I am not alone. I look like a witch hahaha

HI Rhuann, I did a search on your mask to see if it is similar to mine. I have the Mirage Quattro full face mask. From what I understand from your description, and from my own personal experience, I think you may need to increase a size rather than decrease. The shapes are very similar between our two masks. I like mine to fit so that the bottom of the maks rides about the middle of my chin and so that the bridge up over the nose fits exactly as it is shaped. Otherwise you end up with the mask literally on your eyes, which is not good. The right fit is vital. I don't know about everyone else's providers, but mine let me try them out for a day or two. YOu should definitely take advantage of that if at all possible. I still hate having to wear a mask and use BiPap, but I sure love the benefits. I have been on BiPap a couple years now and have used multiple different masks. Trial and error is the only way you will find the perfect mask for you. Every so often I get the urge to try something different. I always end up going back to this one though. Most recently, I tried the swift nose mask. It did not work at all for me, as it would not stay in place due to my numbers. I am on 19 over 8, so that is a good deal of pressure. anyway, hope I have helped a little. I am going to post some info I found on your mask...JoAnn

I also had the same issue. It was the very first mask that I was started on. I liked it, knowing it was very bulky. But, I too had marks all over my face in the morning and the bridge of my nose hurting and leaving marks as well. I ended up switching, as it was losing air. No matter how I adjusted it. Hope, all works for ya. I'm on my 3rd, and it's not.

p.s you should ask the company to come to your house and measure u the right way. i switched because the old company just kept ordering me masks without sizing so i went to a local drug store where they sell medical equipment and they sized me there
