Hi all - new to this group but not the site. Not sure if this is the right group but here goes. I have a freckle/nervous on my right eye. started out as a small pin size spot - now spread - eye doc photographed this and checks every year but is this ok. at my last visited in sep he said it had grew slightly and i may need a biopsy at some stage, my eyesight is fine but i have other health issues. should i seek a second opinion - he did state it was very rare but not to worry?? thanks.

Get another opinion. I had an eye doctor tell me two years ago that my spot in the corner of my eye was an age spot and not to worry about it. I had a neurologist look at my eyes monthly for the past two years and tell me "you are blind without your glasses." My family doctor told me last winter that it was a cyst and if they removed it, it will probably grow right back. I finally went to a dermatologist (thinking I would try to have it removed for cosmetic reasons) and he immediately told me it was a basal cell cancer. I am having Mohs surgery Monday. I will only trust a board certified dermatologist again for any skin problem. I hope it is nothing, but it is your eye and you need to find out. Take care and God Bless, Mary Anne
