Fatigue and headache

Hi everyone, I have just joined this group. Was getting frustrated cos I am so tired and could not concentrate to register properly. Just kept getting it wrong. Was diagnosed with SS 8 and a half years ago, though I think I had it long before then. Over the past few months or more, I have been totally fatigued and get a headache regularly. Sometimes I have a headache during the night and cant sleep so am even more tired when I get up. When it comes to that time of the month, I am totally exhausted for the whole week or more. I get frustrated cos I always have to rest and limit myself. I used to work full time but went part time in January this year. A girl at work has chronic fatigue and has been having Vitamin B12 injections. Any one else tried this? Its meant to combat fatigue and I need something to help so I can lead a more fulfilling life. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks x

" Have you made sure that you're not anemic?
I was diagnosed with ss this year but the Dr. also found that I was dangerously anemic. I used to have head aches too.
I still suffer from fatigue but it's different. When I was anemic I felt as though I was running out of fuel.
I felt so much better after starting iron therapy. It was amazing that I could finally go up and down stairs again, get through laundry without sitting down.
Since you mentioned that time of the month being worse I thought I'd ask. The iron helped me for a while. "

" Yes, I take Vit B12 injections. I can do it a few times a week. I do think it helps but most of the time they only want to give you 1cc per month which doesn't cut it. I take sometimes up to 3 cc's every other week. What your body doesn't need, you pee out. I also am taking 3000 mgs of fish oil and coq10. I start plaquenil in about a week or so, so I hope that really helps. Good luck to you. "

" I know this may sound bizarre, but my ophthalmologist suggested that I use eyedrops,,gen teal eyedrops during the day, P M refreash at nighttime before you're ready to close your eyes otherwise it's worse than the London fog and restasis later on if needed. And believe it or not that did the trick, no more headaches or at least fewer ones. If your eyes are too dry they will rub togeather and cause pain, you could damage your eyeball by them drying out. I like to use the gel because it is so soothing. But I still had a few headaches. So I was given Restasis a prescription, as where the other two are over-the-counter. I would try to gel first to see if that would help getting rid of your headaches first. I thought my doctor was crazy but it worked.

Good luck Dugeb "
