I am new to this site & just joined this support group. I was excited to find a place where I finally fit in. I am not a dwarf or a midget, just short-4'9". My family was of average height & so was my husband, who I just lost to a motorcycle accident 3 mos. ago. He loved me & was attracted to me because of my height, but most people see it as an oddity or defect. I have grown (no pun intended) to be comfortable in my own skin, but this recent loss has thrown me & made me more self-conscious & resentful of my height difference. I am afraid no one will ever again be able to see me in the same positive light my husband did.

Welcome! Sorry to hear about your husband, that is hard, I'm sure. I lost my dad just last October.
If people don't like you for your lack of height, that's THEIR problem, it's your character that's most important. Best wishes to you
