Hi guys,
My name is Bunny and I am new to the group. I am a 22 year old newlywed (I have been married for three months) and we have two small children. Over the past two years I have became addicted to shopping, internet shopping in particular. I love Ebay, but also Etsy. I love getting things custom made for my children, house, work, etc. My husband and I just purchased our first home, so of course finances are tight. Even though I know I need to stop spending money, I continue to shop and sometimes spend my whole paycheck and then end up taking out loans to pay my bills. Thats when the guilt kicks in. I am so depressed because of my debt and lack of responsibility, which only fuels my shopping. Two nights ago, I stayed up all night buying clothes for my daughter and when I checked my account today I had spent nearly three hundred dollars! I am really ruining my life with this compulsive shopping. So I have decided to quit. Cold turkey. For 21 days to see if I can break this habit. I am actually bogging about my experience and you can follow me at http://thetaleof21days.blogspot.com/ My question is: will I ever be able to shop like a normal person? Or is this something I will have to give up completely? Posted on 08/17/09, 06:08 pm |

I do the same thing, ebay, all kinds of internet stores. And get this we actually had our dish plan cut off but they still allow you to watch hsn, qvc, gemstv, and jtv, so now ive been shopping with them too. I try to rationalize every purchase because i only buy clearance and use discount codes, but my how it still adds up. I have boxes and bags of stuff that I have never even opened, the stuff i do, a lot i look at once and never use or it doesnt fit and i never send anything back. I am bad!
