I have had shingles for about a month. started out thinking I was getting a fever blister. I eventually got the rash on my lower right lip my chin, in my throat, my hair and in my ear and a few very close to my eye. I have had a wonderful doctor who gave me acyclovir 800mg 5x a day, and support for pain. I still have the rash on my lower lip and feel like the ones in my hairline and earare beginning to itch amd hurt again. The thing is, I can sleep 12 hrs a night, and now I am having muscle cramps in my right leg(calf), arm and hand. I sweat and feel like I'm burning up with any exertion. I wonder if this is something associated with shingles or if I'm in for a new medical experience!! I'm soooooo ready to be well again. Hope everyone out there with shingles has a good night.

Hi Spinnyd,I think there is no rhyme or reason for anything that happens with shingles.I had it 18 months ago on my right side of my body and now have it on the left with the pain.I am only taking painkillers but before I took Gabapentin which is an anti-epilepsy drug.I also sleep well and am really tired with the shingles but have the most vivid dreams. I wish you well. Just hang on in there.
