i had shingles on my scalp and the rash was on my forehead starting on april 30th. i have been on gabapentin since the rash broke out a few days later.i have had blurred and double vision ever since. it comes and goes but hasnt gone away. i want to ween off the gaba because i have read where gaba causes these symptoms. i dont have any pain left just a itchy svcalp which i could use some advice too.... should i just ween off of it and how is best to do it. i have 300 miligram capsules that the dr has me taking twice a day which make the blurred vision worse.

Hi Danny...hopefully your symptoms have eased by now. I'm sharing your pain, literally. Shingles on forehead, scalp and right eye. What a week it has been!! I found aloe vera gel (available in Walmart pharmacy) a huge help, plus green tea bags soaked in cold water as compresses. Good luck, and lets both hope it never comes back.
