I have the rash on the inside of my right knee and wonder if the pain only stays in that area or you can have it in other places, also the rash is drying up because of the valtrex, can it spread to other areas. I also wanted to know can you also have a stiff neck and temperature with it.

" Sorry you have got shingles. If the rash has only started in one place - back of knee & is drying up I would be surprised if it appears in another place? Have you got it appearing somewhere else already? A temperature can certainly gp with it I have found but dont know about the stiff neck. Hope you get better soon
Hugs, Sue "

" I've had shingles for the past 10 days, on my forehead, scalp and right eye. Your stiff neck is likely caused by swollen glands, a side effect of shingles. I looked up the condition on the Net as soon as the doc diagnosed it, which scared the poop outa me but gave me a good idea of what to expect. It's been a painful and frightening experience, but with the help of aloe vera gel and Valacyclovir, plus eyedrops, it is easing. Good luck. "

" I have never heard of the rash spreading to other areas. It is a virus that lives, so to speak, in a particular nerve and only affects that nerve. I always, always get my rash in exactly the same place, never moves by even an inch. I would not worry about getting it in other places. Hugs Jennie "
