Hi everyone
I'd just like to say that no one can really know how horrible shingles actually is without having them, I would have to admit I would much rather be giving birth right now than sitting here with these nastys. I finally went to the drs yesterday thinking this rash and shooting pain is really not going to go away, thedr said I have shingles much to my surprise and was I given aciclovir. I know it's too early tell if the drugs are working but I have been in chronic pain all day and nothing seems to be helping and to top it off I am five motnths pregnant so a lot of things are out of the question. Does anyone have any advice of anything that helps with the pain the itching and the burning I can handle but the pain can really take my breath away. My mum suggested natural yoghurt on the sores and I've tried ice packs, chamomile lotion dettol bath but does anyone else have any suggestions they would greatly appreciated. i have had shingles 3 times.. they always give me valtrex and lidocain patches.. and my pharmacist makes me a cream.. its benadryl, lidocain, and a type of antibiotic i think.. i kept the cream in the fridge.. there is nothing more soothing than a nice cool cream on a hot irritating row of shingles.. i always switched it out tho. i would wear the patches during the day on them.. and then at night, i would gently wash em off with some type of baby wash (baby stuff is more gentle than other things) and i would apply the cream before bed. i tend to heal really fast with this method.. hope any bit of that can help

Only for your information. You can buy KMnO4 (Potassium permanganate) powder/ grains from medicine shops, and put it in cold water to make the medicine liquid. Ratio: 1g KMnO4 to be put in 50ml cold water, to get 2% medicine liquid. Use this liquid to apply on the affected area, 2 times a day, 3 days in series. This liquid can give out oxygen, can kill the virus and make the skin scab. Curing rate: 89%. Only fyi.If u want to test, u can start from a little area...

B.t.w, the liquid is only useful in 2 hours. When it turns to be dark purple color, it's not effective any more
