I am 20 years old and I was just diagnosed with shingles this past Saturday. I have a very large patch on the left side of my chin and another patch about 2 inches up on my cheekbone. But now, I have a blister/sore on my RIGHT eyebrow. I thought shingles could only be on one side of the body following that nerve? I also have one huge blister on my right index finger that is extremely painful. Could these be related? Is this even shingles? The doctor had no answers for me, so I really need someones help.

My shingles were on the right side of my forehead, but they DID cross over to my left eyebrow, so while it's true they follow the path of a nerve, it's apparently also true they can "spread" a bit beyond that. Exactly how that happens, I couldn't tell you. Be very careful of your eyes, I'd have them checked for early signs of shingles of the eye, prevention is everything. As for your finger, I'm not 100% sure, but I'd say it's NOT shingles related. Good luck.

Hope your doc ordered valtex for you. I am very upset that I have post shingles pain which is unreal. DEFINITELY GET YOUR EYES CHECKED.

I have shingles on my right side for the most part near my beltline. I did get some minor outbreaks on the other side of my body so I guess it can happen. I know it is scary when this happens becasue of everything you read but I have read many stories where people break out on both sides.
